Ensemble

Competition categories

  • Classical duo, trio, quartet, quintet etc. (Piano + strings / winds, or strings / winds only)
  • Piano duo
  • Other instrumental and vocal ensembles of any type (only acoustic instruments are allowed)
  • Children's and youth orchestras (chamber, symphonic, wind, folk instruments)

Age groups / maximum time limit

The age group for ensembles is determined by the average age of the ensemble members. Ensembles of 3 participants up to 14 participants are allowed the presence on stage of a non-competing accompanist (piano player). Ensembles of 15 or more participants (as well as in orchestras) are allowed the presence on stage of an adult concertmaster and/or conductor in a non-playing capacity.

Repertoire requirements

For groups 1, 2 — at least two, maximum four compositions of different characters from different eras.

For groups 3, 4 — at least one, maximum three compositions of different characters from different eras in each of the two rounds

In the category "Children's and youth orchestras" division into age groups is not provided, the program (at least two, maximum four pieces of different characters from different eras) with a maximum duration of 30 minutes must be performed in one round.
